Sowing Time:

1. Kharif (Rainfed)        –           June – July
2. Rabi (Irrigated)         –           Aug – Sept.
3. Summer (Irrigated)   –           Feb. – March

Seed Rate: 1.5 kg seed/ha.

Spacing:

1. Planting distance depends upon the varieties and type of soil.
2. Varieties bearing small fruits require lesser spacing than varieties bearing big fruits.
3. Spacing according to soil is – 60 x 60 cm on light soil.
                                            75 x 75 cm on medium soil.
                                            90 x 90 cm on heavy soil.
