Selection of Seed and Seed Treatment for Chilli Cultivation
1. Seed is obtained from healthy, fully ripped and dried chilli fruit.
2. It is treated with organo mercurial fungicide like ceresin or agrosan @ 2.5 gm/kg seed for protection against seed born disease.
3. It is mixed with fine soil or ash for even sowing and to avoid crowding of seedlings.
4. Before transplanting the seedlings are dipped in 1% Bordeaux mixture and dimethoate solution @ 17 ml/10 lit. water to protect them from the attack of diseases and insect pests respectively.
