It is a cross pollination vegetable crop. Isolation distance should be 1200 meters. Seeds of early variety can be produce in plains of India having cool climate. But late varieties can be produce only in hilly region. Seeds of early varieties are produce mainly in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar states of our country. Seeds of alter varieties was imported from other varieties previously, due to difficulties in seed production, but now a days by using new techniques, the seeds of late varieties i.e. snow ball are produce in Kullu valley, Kashmir, Darjiling, Nilgiri Hills of our country as late varieties require very cold climate during its seed production.
