Organizational Structure of Training and Visit System
The entire organizational structure of Training and Visit System is based on the proportion of the total number of farm families to be contacted by the respective Village Extension Officers within stipulated time (see organization chart).
1. At Village Level:
One Village Extension Worker has to contact 8 to 10 contact farmers which in turn will cover about 1000 to 1200 farm families through the visits of contact farmers.
2. Circle Level:
In all 8 to 10 Village Extension Workers working in their respective villages are grouped under a circle level as administrative unit for Agril Extension Officer (A.E.O.).
3. Block Level:
One Agril Extension Officer renders guidance and training as well as supervises the work of 8 to 10 Village Extension Workers.
4. Sub Divisional Level:
A Sub Divisional Extension Officer (S.D.E.O.) has control over eight Agril Extension Officers. He is supported by a small team of 3 Subject Matter Specialists.
There are three to Four Sub Divisions in the total Districts:
i) District level / Divisional Level:
There are three or two Divisional Extension Officers so as to supervise the work of Sub Divisional extension Officers. However, in some area only one Principle Agril Officer (P.A.O.) has assigned the whole supervision and administrative control of the District. He is also called as ‘District Extension Officer’.
ii) Zonal Level:
As per different regions, Principal Agril Officers are supervised by the Zonal Officer. He is known as ‘Joint Director of Agriculture’ or ‘Zonal Extension Officer’. A small team of subject matter at the regional level is provided with Joint Director of Agriculture.
iii) State Level:
Additional director for Training and Visit System is supported to be State Representative and Administrator for Training and Visit System activities. He is authority in the apex to run the programme.
