1. First cutting of Lucerne is done at 50 to 60 days.
2. Other cuttings are done at 30 to 35 days interval when crop is in half flowering stage.
3. In all 8 to 12 cuttings are available during the year.
Yield:
1. The first cutting gives yield about 1.5-2 tons/ha. and then the yield increases during subsequent cuttings.
2. Av. Yield of Lucerne is about 50 to 55 tons green fodder/year.
