A Kisan Credit Card scheme provides timely loans to farmers. The KCC Scheme was started in 1998 with the aim of providing farmers with short-term formal credit.

The PM Kisan Credit Card is now linked to the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan). Agricultural loans of up to Rs 3 lakh can be obtained from KCC at 4% interest rates. Additionally, PM Kisan beneficiaries are now more easily eligible for the KCC Scheme.

According to PIB, more than 2 crore Kisan Credit Cards were issued during the Corona period, with the majority going to small farmers. Future agricultural infrastructure and connectivity infrastructure in the country will benefit these farmers”.

Farmer credit cards were introduced to meet the credit requirements of the agriculture, fisheries, and animal husbandry sectors. We assisted them in obtaining short-term loans and provided them with a credit limit (KCC scheme) for buying equipment and other expenses.

The interest rate for KCC is less than 2%, while the average rate is 4%. Thus, farmers are exempt from the bank’s high interest rates since KCC assists them. By using this scheme, farmers can repay their loans based on the harvest period of the crop for which the loan was granted.
