Agricultural Students to Become Entrepreneurs; Know Full Scheme
The Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department has launched the ‘Agri Junction Scheme‘. Students studying agriculture, dairy, or horticulture can become entrepreneurs under this program. The program will select agricultural trainees from all districts.
About the Scheme:
Under the ‘Agri Junction Scheme,’ 1000 youth are eligible to participate as long as they have graduated in agriculture, dairy or horticulture, etc., and are not older than 45.
There will be a beneficiary from every block of the state; if there is no graduate in agriculture, etc., the youth will have the opportunity to pass an Inter or Diploma in Agriculture. Agriculture officials and bank officials from the districts will nominate youth by taking the application form.
Apart from that, they will also receive a free license to sell fertilizers, seeds, and medicines, etc. by providing them with training to operate the enterprise. The government will provide interest subsidies for selected candidates who take out loans from banks.
According to the Agriculture Department, youth studying agriculture will also be able to give information about fertilizers, seeds, and medicines.
The Rural Self-Employment Training Institute will train selected applicants for 12 days. They will also learn about the business plan, which will help them become better entrepreneurs.
Beneficiaries will receive an assistance of Rs 4 lakh, in which they will have to invest Rs 50 thousand themselves, and the bank will provide a loan of Rs 3.5 lakh. In addition, the government will grant Rs 42,000 towards the interest on the loan.
As well as this, the government will also cover the rent of his shop (maximum one thousand rupees) for one year and the selected people will be able to sell other agricultural-related products there.
